Official Rules

• NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning.
• INTRODUCTION: BP Lubricants USA, Inc. and Source Interlink Magazines, LLC ("Sponsors") are together offering the Castrol SYNTEC Top Shop Challenge Sweepstakes described in these official rules (the "Sweepstakes").
• ELIGIBILITY: The Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Canada, but is void to residents of and throughout the province of Quebec. Must be 18 years of age or older as of 4/14/08 and possess a valid driver's license to enter or win. Employees of the Sponsors and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliated companies, dealers and agents, and the foregoing employees' household or immediate family members (defined as parent, spouse, child, sibling or grandparent) are NOT eligible to enter the Sweepstakes.
• TIMING: Sweepstakes begins at 10 a.m. Pacific Time ("PT") on 4/14/08 and ends at 5 p.m. PT on 11/3/08 (the "Sweepstakes Period").
• HOW TO ENTER: Limit one entry per day (PT) per e-mail address. To enter: during the Sweepstakes Period visit www.SyntecTopShop.com and correctly complete the official entry form (including casting your vote for the engine you think will win the Castrol Top Shop Challenge), then submit your entry as directed (please note that all required information/fields on entry form must be fully, accurately and legibly completed or entry may be voided). Sponsors reserve the right to include a Sweepstakes official entry form at any additional authorized website or other authorized location.
• PRIZE: One (1) prize will be awarded consisting of the engine that the Sponsors announce (at the 2008 SEMA show) as the winner of the Castrol Top Shop Challenge (the "Challenge"). The approximate retail value of the Sweepstakes prize is between US$10,000 and US$15,000 (value depends upon the engine that wins the Challenge). The awarded Sweepstakes prize engine will be limited to the following components: engine block, pistons, rods, cylinder head, camshafts, valve springs and retainers, radiator/fans, exhaust manifold, fuel rail/injectors (additionally, turbo-charged engines will also include: turbo charger, intercooler and piping and wastegate). The Sweepstakes prize is nontransferable and must be accepted as awarded. No cash or other substitution may be made, except by Sponsors in the event that the prize or part thereof cannot be awarded for any reason; in such event, Sponsors will in their sole discretion award a substitute prize or part thereof of equal or greater value. Subject to the conditions herein, the prize will be awarded. Winner is solely responsible for the following in relation to a Sweepstakes prize awarded to him/her: a) any and all applicable taxes (including but not limited to the following taxes: federal, state, provincial, other Canadian taxes, local taxes and sales tax); and b) any and all applicable fees and expenses that are not specifically set forth herein as included with a Sweepstakes prize and are related to the acceptance, award, installation and use of a Sweepstakes prize (including but not limited to the winner's sole responsibility where applicable for: installation [including any required vehicle/engine modifications and/or required additional parts/components], emissions inspection(s), vehicle registration, vehicle license, vehicle title, insurance, gas, maintenance, service fees, usage fees, import duties/taxes/fees, personal expenses and incidentals). Sponsors are awarding the Sweepstakes prize on an "AS-IS" basis without warranty, guaranty or representation of any kind express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, usability by a winner, or where applicable legality for use in a winner's state/province or compliance with emissions regulations. Visual prize depictions may not accurately represent an awarded prize.
• RANDOM DRAWING: On or about 11/6/08 the Sponsors will select the winner by random drawing from all eligible entries received that voted for the winning engine in the Challenge. The decisions of the Sponsors on all matters related to the Sweepstakes and the Challenge shall be final and binding. A participant selected as the potential Sweepstakes winner must comply with all terms and conditions set forth in these official rules, and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all such requirements. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received that voted for the winning engine in the Challenge.
• NOTIFICATION: Potential Sweepstakes winner will be notified (the "Notification") by mail or courier (or other method at the discretion of Sponsors) within approximately five (5) business days of the above-mentioned random drawing. Within ten (10) days of the postmark or shipment date of the Notification, a potential winner must correctly complete, execute and return ("Return") via overnight delivery as directed an Affidavit, Waiver, Release and Indemnity Agreement, including where lawful a Publicity Release (all information requested in the said agreement must be accurately and legibly provided by a potential winner). Please note that additional documents may be required at the discretion of Sponsors. If the initial Notification is not sent via mail or courier but is sent to the potential winner via email, an email reply from such potential winner must be received by the sender of the initial email within five (5) days of such potential winner's receipt of initial email (thereafter, such potential winner will be sent the above-mentioned Affidavit, Waiver, Release and Indemnity Agreement and the Return reply deadline mentioned above will apply). Failure to comply with the requirements of this paragraph (or the return of any prize or prize notification as non-deliverable) may result in disqualification and in the forfeiture of any right to a prize, in which case such prize will be awarded to an alternate by random drawing. In order for a prize to be awarded to a resident of Canada, said resident will be required to correctly answer a time-limited arithmetical skill-testing question. In the event the said skill-testing question is not correctly answered within the time limit, an alternate winner will be selected by random drawing.
• E-MAIL ADDRESS: In the event of a dispute regarding which individual submitted any entry, such entry will be deemed submitted by the natural person whose name is on the entry form.
• RELEASE: By participating in the Sweepstakes and/or accepting a prize, a participant/winner agrees to defend, release and hold harmless the Sponsors and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions, advertising and promotion agencies, and the foregoing companies' officers, directors, shareholders, members, managers, employees, representatives, agents and all others associated with the development and execution of the Sweepstakes and the Challenge (collectively the "Releasees") from and against any actions, claims and/or liability for injury, loss or damage of any kind (including any for the violation or infringement of any proprietary or personal right of any individual or entity, and any personal injury, death and/or property damage) resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in the Sweepstakes, and/or the use, acceptance, or possession of a Sweepstakes prize, and/or participation in a Sweepstakes prize-related activity. By participating in the Sweepstakes and/or accepting a prize, a participant/winner consents to and gives the Sponsors and their respective representatives, licensees, assignees, parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, divisions, advertising and promotion agencies (collectively the "Licensees"): a) The right to photograph/video a winner and a winner's property (including an awarded Sweepstakes prize); and b) The right in perpetuity to use, reuse, publish and display a participant's/winner's name, address, entry form information, statements, quotes, opinions, blog(s), picture, portrait, likeness, voice, video, photograph(s), biographical information, prize information, and winner-submitted photograph(s)/video/text/blog (in whole or in part, as may be adapted, edited or modified, as solely determined by Licensees) for advertising, trade, publicity and promotional purposes in any media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide, and on the World Wide Web, without review, notification or approval, all without limitation or additional consideration, unless prohibited by law. Entries will not be acknowledged or returned.
• CONDITIONS: Participants agree that by participating in the Sweepstakes they release the Releasees from any liability in connection with: a) Entries that are ineligible as a result of being lost, late, illegible, damaged, incomplete, stolen, or misdirected; b) Any typographical or other human or technical errors in the offer or administration of the Sweepstakes and the Challenge, including but not limited to errors in advertising, these official rules, the judging rules for the challenge, the selection and announcement of a winner(s), or the distribution/awarding of a Sweepstakes prize(s); and c) Any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay, misdirection, damage, line failure, injury, technical malfunctions or traffic congestion on the Internet/telephone network, or at any website, or any combination thereof. Sponsors reserve the right to modify these rules and the judging rules of the Challenge for clarification purposes without materially affecting the terms and conditions of the Sweepstakes and/or the Challenge. In the event that the Sweepstakes is infected by a computer virus/worm, or is not capable of running or being executed as planned (as a result of but not limited to an error, omission, defect, delay, misdirection, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, action of entrants, or technical failure) or any other cause which in the sole opinion of Sponsors corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, Sponsors reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any suspect entry or entrant and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes (collectively a "Sweepstakes Revision"). In the event of a Sweepstakes Revision, notice thereof will be posted at the Sweepstakes website, including information (where applicable as determined solely by Sponsors) regarding winner determination in a random drawing from among all eligible non-suspect and/or non-disqualified entries. Releasees shall have no liability to any participant/winner who is disqualified due to a Sweepstakes Revision. Failure to enforce any term of these official rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
• LAWS: Subject to all federal, state, local and provincial laws and regulations. Void where prohibited or restricted.
• WINNER'S LIST: A winner's list will be available by sending an SASE (return postage not required for Canada) by 11/30/08 to: Castrol SYNTEC Top Shop Challenge Sweepstakes, Winner's List, P.O. Box 459, Dana Point, CA 92629-0459.
